Termite Inspection Services

Do you need to do a termite inspection?

Determining the presence of termites in the home could prove to be a very difficult task. However, this doesn’t mean that termite inspection is impossible to do. Familiarizing with these pesky insects and knowing the different indications of their presence is a thing that any homeowner can do before asking for help from any termite control company. Once all these signs and symptoms are noticed in the home, a homeowner should immediately conduct a termite inspection to be able to determine the extent of their infestation of the house.

Termites are generally subterranean creatures meaning that they usually live underground. As they go farther from the ground, termites try to imitate their underground surroundings by building mud tunnels and mini colonies. This is why any the presence of soil and mud is a good indicator of their presence. Termite inspection should start with the investigation of any conspicuous presence of soil especially in areas where they are not usually found like inside the walls or floors.

The appearance of shed wings is also a good indicator of the presence of termites in any area. This is because termites generally fly and swarm when they are looking for a new place to colonize. After swarming, they shed their wings and then appear as the usual termite that most of us know and hate. Termite inspection should be done in areas where high amounts of termite wings are greatly observed.

Other common signs that require an immediate termite inspection include the presence of sawdust like powder in and around your home which is one of the many things that are produced when these insects began eating on wood; and the presence of small holes on wood surfaces that are usually relative to the size of these insects.
